When I began planning for Season 44 it was with great excitement that we were going to be able to have a “normal” season and move on from the pandemic. As they say, you know what happens with best-laid plans…
The continued concerns over the spread of covid and protocols as well as the passing of my father in late October was a major inhibitor of those plans and as you are aware we had to make some changes to our season concerts. Once again, our board has been faced with a tough decision on what to do next.
Given the volunteer hours and the expense required to plan and successfully host an event like Intermezzo!, it has become apparent to our board that it would not be a prudent use of our resources to host such an event in the next six weeks. Ongoing covid spread and an event where we would be in close quarters has created enough concern to halt our ticket sales.
We have decided to cancel Intermezzo! for February 12. We are going to explore the possibilities of opening season 45 with such an event. While we have not been able to hold our regular concerts this season, PCS has continued to incur many of our normal operating expenses with little opportunity for income. If you feel so inclined, we would welcome your donation of any amount to help us meet our budget needs.
I am very determined to host our concert on April 3 and our community singing event on April 30 and May 1. Please be on the lookout for more information and I’ll look forward to seeing you then!
All the best for a great new year!
